Victoria Theatre Association announced the 2015-2016 Premier Health Broadway Series, Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, the Victoria Theatre Family Series and The Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series tonight at a special event for Season Ticket Holders, donors, sponsors and friends of Victoria Theatre Association.
“I am really excited about the new shows on this year’s Premier Health Broadway Series,” said Victoria Theatre Association and Arts Center Foundation CEO & President Ken Neufeld. “Each Tony Award®-winning production will give our audiences a unique and rich theatrical experience. In addition to five new-to-Dayton titles, Disney’s THE LION KING returns to the Premier Health Broadway Series for a four-week engagement that is sure to be a terrific event for Dayton audiences, not to mention the economic impact it will have on our downtown region. The 2015-2016 Season brings the Southwest Ohio premieres of the Tony Award®-winning revival of PIPPIN and the Tony®-nominated BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY. The rest of the season includes more new-to-Dayton shows including: ONCE and Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA…Each one a multi-Tony Award® winner!”
Mr. Neufeld was the emcee for the evening, which included desserts and cocktails. More than 500 people attended the event, which was held in the Kettering Wintergarden of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Local community and business leaders such as City of Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, Dayton Development Coalition’s Quin Kline, Premier Health’s Julie Liss Katz and Montgomery County Commissioner Judy Dodge assisted Mr. Neufeld in announcing the 2015-2016 Season. Entertainment was provided by Wright State University Musical Theatre students Sean Jones, Lauren Schorr, Keaton Eckhoff and Emma Jorday, with professor Jaime Cordes and accompanist Amy Gray.
